Pacific Coast Hiking Adventure
Oregon Beaches, Coast Range Waterfalls, Coastal Rivers, Temperate Rainforests
Service Description
The Pacific Coast Hiking Adventure is a full day hiking adventure which may include ocean beaches, coast range waterfalls, coastal rivers, and temperate rainforests in Oregon. There are gorgeous views of the coastline from our heads, capes, and beaches. Agates and seashells are found along the beaches at low tide. Razor Clams and Dungeness Crabs are rather prized in this region. During certain times of the year, whales can be spotted in the Pacific Ocean. Elk roam in the hills and seldomly down to the beaches. Seals and Sea Lions swim in the sea and bask in the sun. Tidepools are visible at low tide with starfish and sea anemones. Our coastal rivers are home to premier fishing, with runs of our prized Chinook Salmon and Steelhead. Rainbow trout are present year-round. Fishing is only allowed during fishing season however with a valid fishing license. Wildflower season in the forest and along rivers is in spring and early summer in the coast range. Berry season starts in early summer with salmonberries and continues throughout the summer with huckleberries, elderberries, and thimbleberries. The trees are draped with moss and ferns in the coastal temperate rain forests. In this region, Sitka Spruce trees reach enormous sizes. During World War I, their lightweight lumber was used to build ships and airplanes. Lunch is included on this tour. Multiple destinations can be completed in one day depending on the locations, allowing for example: beaches and a waterfall could be potentially visited on the same adventure.
